Firefight is a single or cooperative campaign mode in Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach , where up to four players can co-operate with one another via system link or Xbox Live and fight against waves of Covenant attackers. This mode allows them to battle in multiple environments based on campaign maps, on foot or in vehicles, and against increasingly difficult waves of Covenant attackers. Firefight has no limit to the waves of enemies, and continues until the squad has completely run out of lives. There are five Waves in a Round and three Rounds in a Set. The Set, Round, and Wave can be seen at the top left side of the player's screen. The Set number is represented by a number from one to infinity; the Round is represented by a circle, going from left to right; the Wave is represented by five slanted vertical boxes, going from left to right.

Arqade is a question and answer site for passionate videogamers on all platforms. It only takes a minute to sign up. How does it work? How am I matched with other players? Is there a difference between the cooperative modes ie firefight and the competitive modes ie slayer?
Server Relays Blocking Matchmaking : We received reports yesterday that players were having troubles finding matches with relays enabled. After further investigation, an issue was discovered, and as of this morning we believe this is now resolved. We will continue to monitor relay performance and matchmaking. Audio Issues: Players have reported various issues regarding game audio not sounding as expected muffled, inconsistent volume, low quality, etc. This is a known issue present at launch and work has continued since the last update.

This guide aims to be accessible to all users, but also to provide additional information for more technical users who are interested in further details.
