I recently purchased a canister type water softener for the rig. We don't drink tap water in the trailer anyway, so that is not an issue. However, we do use the ice that is made in the refer. Has anyone plumbed this in a neat and tidy fashion, so that the ice maker is ahead of the softener? Does anyone have a diagram they could share on how they set this up? I would prefer not to have to have another hose outside running to the ice maker.

It only takes a minute to sign up. Our department just moved physical locations. We were able to bring the fridge from our previous break room, but our new location does not have a water line anywhere nearby for the ice maker. The simple solution, of course, is to just use ice cube trays, but I would really like it to be constantly producing ice not have to rely on coworkers to refill the trays. My thought is to get a gallon container, and hook the water line into the bottom and then set it on top of the fridge. This way you can refill it in large quantities at once, rather than tray by tray.

Running a water line to a refrigerator to supply its ice maker and drinking water dispenser has never been easier. This type of fitting is easy to install and is less prone to leaking than a saddle valve. In most cases, the water line can be run from a kitchen faucet water supply line through the kitchen cabinets and over to the refrigerator. If running the line through the cabinets is not feasible, you might need to run it through the floor and up to where the refrigerator is located.
Nothing matches up to the quenching power of a cold drink on a hot day. The mere thought of a fizzling drink and ice cubes in a tumbler makes your mouth crave for some action. Ice trays are one of the common and the pioneer of ice cubes making. If you are hosting a summer party or something, that means a big part of your fridge will be stacked up by ice trays.
