Piper is currently the head counselor of the Aphrodite's Cabin , after challenging and defeating Drew Tanaka who became the head counselor of the Aphrodite cabin after the former counselor died in the Second Titan War. She is the former girlfriend of Jason Grace and is now the girlfriend of Shel. Piper got her name from her Grandpa Tom , who noted her strong voice, and hoped that she would one day learn all of the great Cherokee songs, including the Song of the Snakes. As opposed to many other children of Aphrodite, Piper was never very focused on her natural beauty and has a somewhat tomboyish style. At one point, she helped her actor father research Greek mythology for a role her father was about to take on in a film and learned quite a bit of information that she found interesting.

Piper is now dating a teenage girl named Shel. Their relationship resulted in the demigod daughter of Aphrodite and the mortal Tristan Mclean. Piper grew up under her father's famous shadow, because he was a handsome and a famous movie star. She wished she could have had everything she wanted but she didn't like taking her father's money. Piper also felt as if her father was too busy for her, and without too much hesitation decided to steal things to get his attention. She kept stealing, and he kept talking to her, but she came to the conclusion that the bigger things she stole, the longer he talked to her. She asked him if she could have the car, and he said yes, so she got in and drove it away.

Drew took over the cabin after Silena died in The Last Olympian. During the campfire to decide who would go on the Quest for Hera , she displayed her ability to charmspeak by convincing the other campers that she should go, being a child of Aphrodite , but also because she has a crush on Jason. Piper uses her own ability to charmspeak to cancel out Drew and to force everyone else to let her go on the quest. It is then that Piper is claimed by Aphrodite, much to the irritation of Drew. After being given a bed at Aphrodite's Cabin , Drew pushes a fellow cabin member named Lacy out of the shower, causing her to cry.
