My kind of place! Various restaurants and clubs to hang out at with friends and possibly meet new ones!! Thumbs Up!! Unless you know pretty well what is the attraction that you are looking for, or a favorite restaurant or bar, there is nothing special about Hillcrest, unless you are a fan or pertain to the club of the rainbow flag, if so, then you will like this place a lot as this is the place for you.

Gay Nightlife in San Diego: Bars, Clubs, & More
Some forums can only be seen by registered members. Just curious as to what you all think I tend to think it's not very gay friendly unless you're living in the more urban parts of the city North Park, Hillcrest, OB, ect. I shutter when I venture up to Poway because homophobia there is rife from what I've seen. There's a vibe here that feels extremely different from SF and LA in terms of being tolerant of alternative "lifestyles". What do you think? I think it's more gay-friendly or at least tolerant than many people give it credit for.

San Diego has a wealth of exceptional hotels, the vast majority of them located in the downtown area, but you'll find inviting places to stay, many with a sizable LGBT following, throughout the city and surrounding area, including the beach neighborhoods and on up to luxurious, coastal La Jolla. There are also a handful of smaller properties located in or near Hillcrest, which is at the heart of San Diego's LGBT community and the home of most of the city's many gay bars. From downtown, it's only a to minute cab or car ride to Hillcrest, however.
