While the town may now be quite a bit more urbanized than back then, the waters have retained that special quality which has made them so famous. Gero is located between Nagoya and Takayama , about an hour south of Takayama. This makes it a convenient stopover, or an attractive alternative to stay during the Takayama Festival , when lodging is difficult to find in Takayama. Onsen hot springs are what make Gero famous, and there are three public bath houses available in town. Also at the south end of the Gero Bridge is a large rotenburo open-air bath you can bath in for free; however, it has no facilities and is exposed to the bridge above. There are also many baths located in the numerous ryokan in the Gero area, several of which are open to the public during certain times of the day.

Al Jarreau - Wikipedia
The following apology was printed in the Observer's For the record column, Sunday June 1 In the article below, we suggested that David Gest had accused Liza Minnelli of giving him herpes. In fact, David Gest has never had the disease and has never accused Ms Minnelli of giving it to him. We apologise to Mr Gest for any embarrassment or distress caused by this mistake. Years ago, a colleague suffered the worst of journalistic embarrassments: he interviewed Meryl Streep for the Sunday Times and failed to notice that she was not Meryl Streep. He'd been told she was Meryl Streep, so he believed it: how was he to know he was the victim of a Mail on Sunday practical joke? Since then, I've always worried that I could find myself in the same position and now, confronted with this small lollipop woman in a Knightsbridge hotel suite, I panic: how do I know this is Liza Minnelli?

Viola Drath was found unconscious in the bathroom of her well-maintained rowhouse in the Georgetown neighbourhood of Washington D. Hours after she was killed, Albrecht Gero Muth, who has been charged with her murder, allegedly approached her family with a signed document which appeared to confirm he would receive hundreds of thousands of dollars from her when she died. Court papers state that Miss Drath's signature on the document was, however, forged in a clumsy attempt by Muth, who allegedly had a young gay lover while they were together, to claim her inheritance.
